Women's Basketball Falls to Pitt-Bradford

BRADFORD, PA — Freshman Julia Augustus scored 29 points to lead host Pitt-Bradford to a 75-57 win over Frostburg State Saturday afternoon at the McDowell Sports Center.

Augustus was 9-of-18 from the field and a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line for the Panthers, who improved to 3-12 overall and 2-3 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.

Senior Kim Faust (Ambler, Pa./Upper Dublin) led the Bobcats (6-10, 1-4) with 24 points and moved into fifth place on the school's all-time scoring chart with 1,448 points.

She surpassed Shelly Ridgeway (1,438) and is now chasing Kara Reed-Nelson (1,548) for fourth.

Sophomore Tracey Little (La Vale, Md./Allegany) posted her fifth double-double of the year with 19 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for FSU, which missed all 13 of its three-point attempts.

Eight other Bobcats combined to score just 14 points.

Pitt-Bradford sophomore Katie Burton added 14 points and 10 rebounds, while freshman Alicia Watkins posted 12 points and nine rebounds.

Frostburg State returns to action on Wednesday when it visit La Roche for a 6:00 pm contest.
